Sales Tax on work order invoices

So, when generating an invoice from line items put into a work order, the sales tax does not populate. Even when I note that an item should have Tax by checking the box, it doesnt' calculate it and just keeps the original price. I currently have to then open the same estimate in quickbooks, and add sales tax to the items in order to get it to populate. (Note: I'm using an ipad)

Is there some setting to make this work? What am I doing wrong here?

    Hello Dylan,
Thanks for posting. We are aware of an issue with Sales Taxes and QBO.  Intuit introduced a different model and method for calculating sales taxes in Harmony online version (and the backend sync version, version 3) which also forces us to update our code and systems to connect properly.  You may have seen QuickBooks asking you to switch from the classic UI to the new Harmony UI.

    We have the following workaround:

    - Create a tax rate/code in QBO. Sync to Method (Full sync or changes only)

    - Update the customer to have a tax code (from QBO)

    - Create invoices,estimates,etc as normal

You might notice that the invoice or estimate in Method will not have the correct taxes calculated after you hit save. However the data is being sent to QBO properly and will be calculated correctly in QBO. If you refresh the invoice/estimate in Method you will also see the correct figures.

Thank you for taking the time to post and your patience as we update our system.  Developers are looking on having a final fix out sometime soon.

I read so many complaints about this. It is a big mistake of tax codes, it can't generate such command. However, Nnewlyweds and already-weds should know about the marriage penalty, where the tax effects of legal marriage mean paying more. Who will pay it changes year-to-year, due to changing tax codes, but there are ways to determine if that's coming down the pike.
