Hello, I have been running into some issues with the estimating portion of the app.

I have mulitple jobs that i estimate for the same clients. I have noticed that if I make an estimate

for say a retaining wall using one type of material, I can send it and save the estimate.

Then I wanted to estimate a different project for the job, I pulled up the older estimate with the different

materials, make some changes, with a new cusomter:job name, and save it. What happens next is the

old job is replaced with the new job even though i have renamed the estimate?

Please advise.

Hi Edward, 

Method CRM does not have a "save as" type of facility. You are just overwriting the old project with new information. The underlying Record id is not changed.  To do what you would like to do, you need some actions which "copy" the lines and information from the old estimate to the new estimate.  QuickBooks has a Duplicate Estimate command. This is not in MethodCRM out of the box. But Method or a Method Partner could perform the customation for you.

As Fran mentioned, by selecting a previous estimate, changing the information on the screen and saving, you are overwriting that previous estimate with new information. It would be possible to create a button to copy an Estimate, however. It would function similarly to the Create Sales Order button on the Customers > Estimates screen in Method.
