    Event Action Order Numbering

In "Advanced Screen Properties", "Step 2: Actions"copying an existing action will put the incorrect numbering in the "Order Column".

For example, in the event OnScreenLoad let's say there are 26 actions, and in the event OnClosePopUp there are 10 actions. When you copy an existing action in "OnClosePopUp", the order number will say "27" for the new copied action. instead of "11"

The order number sequence chooses the next highest integer of both events. Is this a bug or is this how it should function for the advanced screen property events? This does not happen for buttons with multiple events.

    Hi Jason,

I tested this myself, but I’m unable to replicate this behaviour. When I copy an action set to the OnScreenLoad & OnClosePopup events, the order number is set correctly for each event individually. I suggest you try the following:

    1) Clear your browser’s cookies and cached files

    2) Use an incognito or private browsing window

    3) Try this in a different browser

Is this causing any errors on your screen? Are you able to save, close & publish? If so, is the order corrected afterwards?

There are no errors caused by this, as an order sequence of 1, 2, 3, 10 will still function properly in the order necessary (like 1, 2, 3, 4). It still seems to persist in an incognito/private browsing window and on other browsers. After save/close/publish, the order still remains with the number skip. Functionality-wise, there isnt any change, but I was just wondering if this was a known effect.

To clarify, I copied one action within the event, not another entire action set into either OnScreenLoad or OnClosePopups

    Answer

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for clarifying. I am in fact able to replicate this behaviour. I spoke with a member of our professional services team and he mentioned that he has run into this before. This is not the intended functionality, but since the actions are still called in the same order and this doesn’t break your action set or cause any errors, it’s unlikely that this will be changed.

If you find that this is causing problems with your customization, please let me know. I’m happy to create a ticket for our development team to investigate if necessary.

    I hope this helps.
