thesolarguys:I created a text field in the customer table. I then linked that field to activity. I made a grid from the activity table but that field just shows blank.
You might have missed a step when linking the tables - here are the steps I took to link a field from Customer to Activity:
- Click Customize > Tables / Fields and open the Customer table.
- Add a new text field here and click Finish Editing Fields.
- Open up your Activity table next and click Add a Linked Field.
- Select Link Using: as Entity.
- Select Linked Field: as the new field you created in the Customer table on step 2.
- Click Add Field then click Finished Editing Fields.
If done correctly your Activity table will have a linked field to the Customer table in the name you specified. It's important to note that when you link a field form one table to another you need a common table in between them. In this case we're using Entity as the link since it shares data with both the Customer and Activity table. Please post back if you have any trouble with linking.
