Activities Defaulting to Completed

    Activities Defaulting to Completed

    We received the following email from Darryl.

    Happy New Year. I don’t think it always did, but when we enter a new Activity, it now defaults to Completed. If people forget to change it – every time - the activity never makes it to a pending actions list. We have edited no pages.   Is there a setting for this?

    Hi Darryl,

    The Activity Status will only default to Completed when an Activity is added to a Case, unless a customized version of the CRM_NewActivity screen is being used. If this is happening on the stock New Activity screen, and not while adding an activity to a case, then please let us know and we'll look into this further for you.

    Let me add to my previous response. Keep in mind that if you're using the Log Call tab link or pop-up call, it will automatically default to the Completed status. Additionally, if you're using QBD, you now have access to individual preferences which when changed will automatically set the default status to completed. Check out the Activity Preferences under the Home tab.
