Sales Order Line - Item number/name not populating

Hi I have made a copy of the QuickBooks Sales Order screen which I have ustomized.  Now when I attempt to make a SO o

nly the Main items show not the sub-items.

When I select the item, only the Main Item is populated in the field.  In this case BRP and not the sub-item selected: 010060e.

Can you tell me what I did wrong?  I looked at the Sales Order Line on the original screen and everythings seems to be the same.  I am completely stumped.

    Thanks !

    Answer

    Hi Formation QB,

Did you look into the advanced field settings of the field Item in the SalesOrderLine gridYou can get here by clicking Edit on the grid, skipping to step two of the grid wizard, and clicking Advanced on the Item field. Here you can edit some of the dropdown properties. In your case the 1st Column option should be FullName via Item

From the screenshot of your customized screen it appears as if you have the first item on thatdropdown list selected (BRP, Do Not Use). In this case it would be correct that the field shows BRP because that is the sub-item of that particular option. If your still stuck, please reply with a screenshot to show what happens when you actually select/click BRP:010060e.

    Answer

I found my mistake:  2nd column was FullName instead of ItemType.  That is what was causing the problem. Thanks for the help !
