    Creating New Activity Causes Email Template to be Mailed

    When anyone creates a new activity for one of my staff members, it also sends an unrelated email from one of our email templates. I can't figure out where or why this is happening. We are not trying to send an email and certainly have not selected the template.

    How do we fix/stop this unwanted action?

    Hi Chris,

    I have a few questions for you.

    - Is this the stock or a custom activity screen?

    - If it’s a custom screen, is the same email sent from the stock screen?

    - Is the “Send an Emal? box in the bottom left corner checked?

    - What is the name of the template that the email is using?

    - Can you include the subject and body of the email (censoring any confidential information)?

    Hi Audisho,

    This error happens using either the custom of the stock New Activity screen. It also happens regardless of the "Send an Email" checkbox state.

    Template name is "Order - Draft Documents"

    Subject is "Please Review and Approve Your _______ Draft Documents"

    I would rather not include the body.

    I appreciate the help.

    Hi Chris,

    Here are a couple of things you can try:

    1) Navigate to Customize > Tables / Fields, locate the Activity table and select Edit Table… Verify that the Automatic Reminders data looks correct.

    2) If you don’t use this template on the backend of any of your screens, make a copy and delete the original. Maybe you re-used an activity template for this email template and since the activity screen is linked, it’s sending this template as an email.

    If you are still unable to resolve this, give out support number a call at 1-888-925-6238 x2. One of our support team members will be able to investigate further.

    Hello,

    I rebuilt the template and deleted the original. That seemed to do the trick. There was clearly some type of link  associated with it, but not sure where or why. Seems to be working correctly now.
