There is no need to uninstall and reinstall. Once you upgrade and open your QuickBooks file it should work fine.
If you are in the US, everything should run smoothly. However, if you are in Canada or UK you may want to instruct the Intuit staff doing the conversion that they need to keep the 'ListID' and 'TxnID' field values for each record since there is a 3rd party program that depends on these values.
