Hi Danielle,
It sounds like you are doing the right thing here, but I wanted to outlined all the steps just in case youve missed something.
To Edit the Size of a field in a table, you would navigate to Customize > Tables / Fields . From Here, you would open up the Table you want to edit fields in by selecting Edit Fields... Next to that Table. Underneath the Size column next to the field you want you Edit, Click on the number in this row until it appears with a dotted box around it and enter the new field size. After doing this, press Save Changes Button next to this field, and finally press Finish Editing Fields.
A few things to note though, you will not be able to edit fields that have been linked from another table. You can check if this is the case by seeing if there is a Table listed under the column which says Linked Via. To edit these fields, you will need to open the base table (ie. the Table listed under Linked Via) to edit this field.
Finally, there are a number of Core accounting fields which you will Not be able to edit. You should be prompted with a dialog box stating that this field is uneditable if you do attempt this however.
Thanks Danielle! Let me know how you go.
Regards,
Ben
