    Editing screens

In the invoice screen, I'd like to add a new row in the middle of a section so that I can add more labels and corresponding text boxes/drop down windows. I watched the Introduction to the Customization Screen webinar, but didn't catch any parts that covered this.

    Thanks,

    Andy

    Andy,

Currently it is not possible to insert rows in the middle of a section, you have to insert rows at the bottom and move everything down. I will bring this up as a suggestion to the team, if it does get added it will probably not be in the near future.

    Re: Editing screens

Is there a webinar that goes into detail on formatting screens, particularly dragging and dropping without distorting the fields? I'm having trouble moving things around without messing up the look and feel of the page. I guess I'm just not yet familiar with how it's supposed to work. Is there an undo button (something like ctrl + z) during screen editing? If I mess up, which I'm doing a lot of right now, while editing the screens, sometimes I want to exit and come back to it without my changes being saved. I can't find an option for that.

    Thanks,

    Andy

To be a little more specific. I added a button for "print packing list" and I want it to sit in the same row as the other buttons at the bottom of the page such as save, print preview, save/new, etc. Also, when I start moving the other fields down, some of them get "clumped together" vertically so that when I expand them or shrink one of them horizontally, the other replicates. I'm sure this just takes a little getting used to, but if you have anything that will point me in the right direction, it will help me out a lot.

    Thanks,

    Andy

    Answer

    Andy,

Normally with buttons you would place them all the same cell (clump them together) by default buttons have the Keep this side-by-side other object in the same cell property checked (This can be found under the Formatting section when editing buttons/field/etc...).  When the fields are in the same cell changing the cell span of a field either making it longer or shorter will affect all the fields in that cell. It can take a little getting used to; I would also suggest using IE for customizing if you are not already using it I find it runs a bit smoother.
