Yes you can schedule a work order as a follow up. You'll need to make sure that the option "App Specific" is unchecked for the activity type. Something to keep in mind however is that since the activity screen is designed much differently, there won't be a Job Name or any job items associated with the work order when its created. You'll need to go into Field Services and setup the work order to have a Job name, job items and a Due Date End afterwards.
