I am creating an invoice. I try to add a line item. I get a message:
Please save the screen before adding any line items.
I am lost on this.

Is this a custom screen or the standard screen? If its a standard screen there should be a Save button at the bottom but it should save as soon as you pick a customer (There are actions on the customer drop down). If you are creating a custom screen then you will need to use the Save All Sections action to save the the Invoice as a whole first and then you should be able to add line items.
P.S. We all were n00bs at some point so no worries.

This is interesting.
It is working fine now. First, I do not have a save button (standard screen, not custom). Second, the invoice did not save when I entered the customer, but I re-entered the customer name it saved fine.

I am glad to hear that it works now but it should have some sort of Save button. If this issue still persits can you send me some screenshots of the screen.
