Renumber Case Numbers

    Renumber Case Numbers

    I am looking to import old cases and cannot find a way to modify the case number.  I checked the import table and there doesn't appear to be anything that matches the number field and I suspect it is an internal ID I cannot overwrite and is automatically created.  Is there a way around this, or do I have to create my own custom field for number and do I have to increment it myself?

    mlepitt,

    The case number cannot be modified it is actually the RecordID (an auto-incrementing field that exists in all tables). What kind of case numbering system do you use right now?
