Closing a transition popup screen automatically

By "transition popup screen" I mean screens used to gather information when going between two tab links. I use such screens when generating POs or Invoices from the Sales Order screen, to do things like select the appropriate line items.

The default transition screens Method uses transition into other popup screens - eg the SO ->Invoice transition screen. The benefit of this is that the Invoice screen can be closed as a popup when it is completed, and the popup goes away for good.

Alternatively, there are benefits to having a transition popup take the user to a tab link, instead of continuing the popup. But the downside of doing this is that it is diffiult to get the transition screen to close itself once I am done with it. Clicking "Next" will take me to the Invoice tab link, but if I click on the SO tab link, the popup will still be there.

Are there any actions available to me to put in the transition screen so that it closes itself after taking me to the new tab link?

Yes, there is an action called 'Close Pop up Screen'. You might want to add this action near the end of the action set (in the pop up screen) just before moving to the next tab link. This will ensure the pop up closes before leaving the screen.

Thanks! I was under the impression that doing that would just close the screen without going to the next action, but I just tried and it works perfectly.
