    Using Doc Mgmt vs SmartVault

    Hi,

A couple questions about Document Management vs. SmartVault.

1 - How much space is available when you use SmartVault.  I know that Method Doc Mgmt was just increased to 500 MB per user license.  Also -- when the maximum space available is used for all licensed users, does it slow things down in the Documents tab?

2 - If we are using Document Management and have a significant number of uploads -- and we decide to switch to SmartVault -- will the transition be difficult?  Do we have to re-upload anything, or does it transfer over?

3 - Can you create folders in Document Management?  If not, what advice can you give us regarding keeping our docs organized?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Answer

    SuzanneB:

With the SmartVault lite account, you have a total of 25 MB storage for your licence.  You can add additional users and storage as you need them.

    SuzanneB:
when the maximum space available is used for all licensed users, does it slow things down in the Documents tab?

No - there would be no slow down inside Method.

    SuzanneB:

You would have to upload everything again.  It would be best to pick a solution and stick with it for now - my suggestion, if you plan to grow outside 500MB, then start with SmartVault since you can add storage as you need it when you grow past 500MB.

    SuzanneB:
Can you create folders in Document Management?

Yes.  When you first upload a document, after you click save & close the edit document screen loads up.  Here you can adjust the folder this document resides in - further to that, if you click on the ... next to folder drop down list you can review all the folders on your account and edit/create new folders as you need.

I forgot to mention our Help Center article on the Documents tab - if you have any other questions you might find the answer there.
