Exporting contacts for a thrid party email program

    Exporting contacts for a thrid party email program

    THe only table which contains the opt out email status is the contacts table; however, when I attempt to export that table, I get an error message.

    If I export the customer and lead table, the file does not contain the information regarding whether the client has requested to be opted out of marketing emails.

    Please advise regarding the best way to provide constant contact  email system with name, email and optout status for our monthly newsletter mailing.

    Also, if I can get this data into an excel file I can easily remove opt out clients from the file that would go to contact contact.

    Hey tom,

    You shouldn't be getting an errors when attempting to export your Contacts table. If you're consistently receiving an error please call in and speak to Support so we can troubleshoot the issue.

    In the meantime you can create your monthly newsletter campaign in Method under the Campaign tab and then use the List Builder to create your email list which you can export from there. Using the list builder you can include both Leads and Customers if you'd like, as well as contacts that have opted out of marketing or billing.     I tried that but I recieve and incorrect output.

    I leave the include opt out and include no email unchecked yet the the output includes them.

    Please advise why those records appear when I have not requested that they be included?

    Just tested it on my account and I'm unable to replicate this. Left both the email and opt out checkboxes blank and selected only Active Customers. Generated my list and I saw only customers with emails that are not set for opt out of marketing. For the purposes of this test I intentionally set several of my contacts for opt out of marketing and they did not appear when my list generated. Are you using the stock CRM_ListBuilder screen or has it been customized?

    Ensure you are not editing any screens, Publish then Save & Close if you are. Try regenerating your ListBuilder table; Customize > Tables/Fields, find the table and click Edit Fields..., when the edit fields screen pops up just click Finished Editing Fields. Now try testing your stock screen again to see if that worked. If this doesn't help then please enable your MethodSupport user and I'll test it on your account: Customize > Users > click the Active checkbox for the MethodSupport user. Let me know when that's done, and please send me the name of your Method Company Account, not your user name

    I send a newsletter each month. Each month I have new leads and contacts. I do not see where I can select the newest non invoicable clients for the export file. The list builder also contains some business contact emails that I must edit out before using the list.  do not wish to re-edit them every month.  Can I edit the list builder to only select certain types of contact - Lead or customer and only include the contacts were created say within the past 30 days?

    Also, my list contained 2 records for each contact. Please advise how I manged to select 2 records for each contact in the list builder.

    Method support is activated so you may go and test my system.

    ach month you should be creating a new list since you'll have new leads and contacts. Yes the easiest way to do this is by customizing the CRM_ListBuilder screen and edit the Fill list with Contacts button. You'll need to add a couple actions which will grab the current date and then subtract it by the amount of days you desire, i.e. 30. Then you would need to edit the Start Loop Through table action and add another where clause. If you can't figure it out and need assistance with this customization let us know and we can get one of our Consultants to reach out to you, or you can check out our Method Solutions Provider's list.

    You're seeing 2 records for each contact because you're not clearing out your list and refreshing your screen before starting the List Builder again. Click the Remove All button on Step 2 of the List Builder screen then refresh your screen. Go back to the List Builder and make sure that there are no records at all showing up.
