    Sorting a grid

A user emailed Method asking if he could sort the Activity grid to view the most recent activities rather than the oldest activities. In the stock Activities List screen, you can simply click on the Due On field or the Activity # field to sort the grid by those fields. If you click on it again, it will sort the opposite direction. This will work for all grids on the stock screens in Method. See my screenshot below.

    Answer

    The same user emailed in:

My sales manager said that when she enters an activity she has to manually enter the date in the notes section.  I thought there must be a way that it "stamps" the date the activity was completed so that we can list all the activities completed in one day and review notes.  She said she used be able to do that but they changed it.  So now only due dates are listed, but if an activity was done outside of a due date, there is no way to list. Please let me know if there is a way to actually view a list of activities completed on a certain range of dates?  It's not apparent in the "activities" default window.

There are two fields in the Activity table called ActualStartDate and ActualCompletedDateThese fields are not placed on the stock Activities List screen, but you can add them into your grid with some customization. If you're interested in getting started with customization I suggest you watch our webinars on the topic. Click here and scroll near the bottom of the page to the Customization section. You can also read some tips about customization in our Help Center

To get going, I suggest creating a new screen based on the Activity table. Add a grid object to the screen designer and add all of the fields that you wish to the grid. You can even add this new page to your Activity tab. Let me know if you need some more assistance!
