text box comments not saving after refresh

    text box comments not saving after refresh

    I added a text box to my work order for tech comments and work performed.  but it doent save the text after save/close and then returning.  it also does not show on the printed WO even brfore exiting the screen? Idea's Im new to this

    Hey krp2203,

    Did you create a textbox only on the screen? In order to store the information in the table, you'll need to actually create a field in the table. You can then drag that field onto the screenusing the screen designer.

    In order to customize tables go to Customize > Tables/Fields > find the table name (if you're referring to an actual Work Order from the Field Service Operations or Scheduling & Invoicing app then click on the Activity table) > then create a field of your choice, e.g. Text. Hope this helps!

    That worked like a charm.  Thanks

    Any sugestions on how to get those to show on my invoice? i dont see the same fields in the designer to add them.  Do i need to share the table or fields somhow?

    Hi Ken,

    Since the field was added to the Activity table, it won't be available in your Invoice screen as it's based off of the Invoice table. What you can do is edit the Invoice table to create a Dropdown which is attached to the RecordID field of the Activity table. Once that's done, you can create a Linked field which points to the custom field in your Activity table. Then you'll be able to drag and drop that field on your Invoice screen using the screen designer.

    If you haven't already, I strongly suggest you watch our Customization Webinars (scroll down towards the bottom of the screen) in order to get a better understanding of customization. Alternatively, you can always speak with an in-house Consultant and pay for an hours worth of training. This option will probably be the most beneficial to you if you plan on further customizations.
