    SalesRep Info in Estimate

I worked with a consultant yesterday to get help with adding a few fields to the Estimate table in order to have them populate our estimates with the SalesRep’s information. The email address field and phone number field are populating the estimate perfectly, but I cannot get the SalesReps full name to show up in the estimate. I have added a linked field from SalesRep for SalesRepName and tried adding that field to the report designer. I save and go to preview it and I still get initials. When I go back into the report designer to adjust the template, the place where I added SalesRepName has switched to SalesRep. Is there a different field that I should be adding to get what I want to show up?

Also, we added linked fields from the customer info to the estimate table so that we could display the customer's email address and phone number in the estimate, and neither of those are showing up in the estimate. Any idea why those won't display?

Okay, I figured out how to add the FullName of the SalesRep, but I still don't understand why the customer email address and phone number are not showing up on the estimate.

    Answer

    Hi Allison,

Glad you figured out the SalesRep issue!

As for the linked fields, you said that you have added them into your Estimate table which is great. However, have you added them to your customized Estimate screen yet? When you edit the screen, you'll be taken to the screen designer. From here, find your new linked fields in the Add Fields tab and drag them onto your screen into a blank cell (see my screenshot below). Here is a guide to the screen designer if you need it and let me know if this works!

I dragged the new fields into my custom estimate screen, and they are displaying the customers info in them, but htey are still not showing up in the estimates in print preview.

    Re: SalesRep Info in Estimate

We celebrated too soon... I was able to change the template for the Estimates in order to display the Sales Rep's FullName, and it worked briefly, but now that part of the template has reverted back to displaying Estimate.SalesRep Instead of FullName. I am making sure to save before closing the report designer, but I cannot get it to stick.

Update: I went back in today and re-saved the Estimate template with the FullName of the sales rep and so far it is sticking. I don't really understand what the deal was. Hopefully it lasts this time. I still can't get the customer email address and phone number to show up on the estimates.

    Hi Alison,

The estimate screen will automatically load the Customer record the way for instance the Edit Customer screen will.  You need to add actions to retrieve the values from the Customer.  If you edit and look at the customer:job dropdown, on step 2 you'll see a number of "Retrieve value from Table" actions.  These actions will locate the customer in the Customer table and place the values in the correct fields on the estimate screen.

For you new sales rep fields, you'll need to add actions in to retrieve those values as well.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: SalesRep Info in Estimate

I apologize if I was unclear. The customer email address and phone numbers are showing up on the Estimate screen. The problem is that I can't get the estimate "report" to display those values for a printed estimate. I have added that field to the report in report designer, but it is not pulling the information and displaying it in the printed estimate.

    Allison,

The second post says you can't populate the customer email address and phone number.  Is it the Sales rep or Customer email and phone you want to populate?  If its the sales rep, they were added as linked fields, correct?  Is the email field a custom Method field?

    Re: SalesRep Info in Estimate

It is the customer's email address and phone number that I would like to display on a printed estimate. Right now, I am able to show the email address and phone number on the estimate screen, and I have set up the estimate to display that information within report designer, but there is a disconnect somewhere that does not allow the printed estimate to show the customers email address and phone number. Does that make sense?

I figured out how to show the Sales Rep's email address, phone number and name on the estimates. That is no longer an issue.
