help renewing work orders

    help renewing work orders

    From the work order list, I selected the "work orders to be renewed" filter, then I go to renew selected work orders and clicked on it.

    1-the work orders are renewed but they still in the work orders to be renewed list, how do I know if the work orders were renewed, shoul't they be removed fron that list?


    2-the due start and end date of the work order series still the same, no change. It genereted new occurrences for next year, but the main start and end date still the same is this normal?

    Hi Marcelo,

    The Is to be renewed flag is set in the Work Order Recurring Dates settings. It's assuming that if everything goes well, the Customer will continue using your service and you'll want to reneindefinitely on a year-by-year basis.

    For example: A customer has you do some gardening work for them once a week for three months Apr-Jun only, but wants you to return the following year and do the same. You'd set Is to be renewed to yes for the series and when the time comes you'd go in and renew the work orders, creating new occurrances for the following year. They'll remain in your list of Work Orders to be Renewed because the assumption is that your happy customer will continue using your service next year. If they don't want to renew for the next year, then you'd go in to the series and uncheck the Is to be renewed checkbox, removing them from the list.

    In writing my previous post, it has come to my attention that there seems to be no way to save the Is to be renewed flag. Our development team will look into this issue and I'll post back here with any updates.

    This has been resolved, however the Is to be renewed flag can only be set when you Insert Recurring Dates.

    So if you wanted to change the Is to be renewed status of a work order series, you would have to insert new recurring dates with the appropriate Is to be renewed setting, ensuring the deletion of the old series by keeping the Delete existing occurrences on insert box checked.
