    How and when the "Transaction" table be updated?

    Hi All,

    I read from previous post regarding "Transaction" table like:

    ===

    The "Transaction" table is a special "combined" table in Method that merges together some of the key fields of all the transactions tables (like invoices, payments, sales receipts, etc.).  Unlike other tables, the Transaction table does not support showing new or custom fields, so you wouldn't be able to show a new field in a grid based on the Transaction table. You could however, do some actions to extract the value from your table when the user clicks a "Select" link and have that display on the screen.

    ===

    Does it mean this "Transaction" table is updated whenever a Purchase Order, Sales Order (and other orders) are created or updated automatically by Method?

    Thanks.

    Answer

    Hi Alex,

    The Transaction table is a combination of all the separate transaction tables. You can find a list of QuickBooks Desktop transaction tables here.

    This table only contains the following key fields for the tables mentioned in the above link:

    So for tables that are mentioned in the list, the above fields will be updated in the Transaction table as well as the type-specific table for that transaction (Invoice, Estimate, etc.).

    Hope this helps.
