Able to add dropdown field from a field on another table that is not unique...???

I'm adding a drop-down field to a table from another table. Method new does not seem to require these fields to be unique. Is that intentional by design, is this something that will go away in the future,...?

    Here is the table

Here is a shot of trying to add the field Color as drop down on another table

    Answer

    Hi Mahlon,

This is by design. It can cause issues when you have duplicate values and can't distinguish between Blue vs Blue (where they may have different descriptions, etc.). In this situation, it's up to the screen designer to add columns to the dropdown so that the user can distinguish between values.

Of course, you can still make the field unique if you wish.
