    Importing Subcustomers

When importing a customer record that is a subcustomer of an exisiting record, does the FullName get updated automatically as part of the import or do I need to specificy the Customer:Subcustomer text in the FullName field as part of the import.  For example, if I'm importing:

    FirstName:  Sub

    Lastname:  Customer

    ParentFullName: Parent Customer

Will the subcustomer's record be assigned "Parent Customer: Sub Customer" automatically as the subcustomer's FullName, or do I need to define "Parent Customer: Sub Customer" as the FullName field in the import?  I just want to make sure the subcustomer's FullName appears as it would if it was entered through the GUI.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Answer

    Hi Mike,

There is a database trigger that automatically creates the FullName field so you do not need to include this in your import. You do need to include the Name field however, as this is a required field. The resulting FullName field of the imported record will look like “ParentFullName:Name”. I hope this helps.
