    "Save & New" Case Behavior

    Hi there,

Our tech support team often creates multiple cases for the same contact/company as they prefer to track all issues separately. How can I set it to retain all existing field information when they hit "save and new"? This would prevent them from inputting the information multiple times.

    Thank you!

    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,

Great question! Within the Save & New Action Set before the Clear/New action gets executed use an Action Result to save the current Active Record ID.

Now to make sure the screen works/looks correctly we will initiate 2 Show/Hide Fields to 'SHOW' both sections:

    (1) Contacts

    (2) Contacts Info Details

Now that we're done with the screen-prep we are ready to pull and update fields on screen from the Cases table.

We're going to Loop the Cases table:

We will then update fields onscreen within the Loop from Row:

Give that a try and let me know if you run into any issues.

    Hi Mortaza,

    Thank you!

Couple of questions for you as I got stuck right away:

With Step 1, what kind of value is that? Type in? I didn’t see “active record ID” as an option in any of the “value from screen” options. (?)

Also, can you send over a screenshot of what my final action properties should be?

    Many thanks!

    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,

Value from Session > Screen Active RecordID:

This was my final Action Set:

Let me know if you have any more questions :).

    Thank you, Mortaza!

It does work this way- however it defaults to "none" in the radio button selection, rather than "existing". How do I set that to default to "existing"?

    So close!

    Hey Sarah,

You will need to use an 'Enter Value Into Field On Screen' action to update the radiobox.

    It will look like:

Add this action to your action set, making sure you have it placed in the correct order.

Let me know if that works for you.
