    Hi Isreal,

Usually when you see an error like that, chances are there is a minor problem with your QB file.

In your QB database, go to File > Utilities > Rebuild Data in QuickBooks

Go through the steps of rebuilding the data and try to sync again.  Keep us posted!

Giving this a bump, as we just had the same problem crop up -- and we've done several rebuilds. Any other options? Our error message was essentially the same:

/7/2011 9:53:35 AM Warning: Error in OpenConnectionBeginSession, HRESULT = -2147220456 (80040418); This application has not accessed this QuickBooks company data file before. The QuickBooks administrator must grant an application permission to access a QuickBooks company data file for the first time.; iContext=30

    Hi TogsTeam,

In QuickBooks can you go to Edit > Preferences > Integrated Applications > Company Preferences. You should see multiple listing for Method. Select the first one and click Properties. Make sure that Allow this application to read and modify the company file is checked and that Allow this application to login automatically is checked, if prompted for a user select the admin user. Do these same steps for all the Method listing you see.

Thanks, Michael. The first time I logged in as Admin on the QB server, the app certificate authorization popped up, so I re-authorized Method Integration engine to access the database even when QB is logged off.  I'm curious how the engine got "disconnected" and what we did to contribute to that... but we're having some ongoing issues with database corruption, so we'll be on the phone with QB at some point.

I am also getting the same error.  I've never come across this error below and have been successfulling syncing for over a year now.  I checked my QuickBooks preferences as instructed above and am already set to to allow acess to Method Integration Engine for use with QuickBooks.  I don't understand why I suddently can't sync. Please help.

    Hi there mmcbride,

Are you making sure you log in as the Admin User? You might need to re-add the certificates as the admin user in Quickbooks, as there was a certificate update done on our end a few weeks ago. If you need any assistance with this, please Let me know, or email us at support@method.me and ill have a support representative reach out to you ASAP.

    Regards,
