    problem with apostrophe in an Employee name

    Using a screen I created based on the Quickbooks_Time_Tracking screen, I notice there is a problem if the employee has an apostrophe in the name.  Easy to reproduce, setup employee Jimmy O'Shea, and try to create a time tracking entry.  The entry does not get displayed or created.  Some browsers will show an error, some won't.  Our SQL expert suggests it's an SQL error because of the way SQL Server used the apostrophe.

    @HarryWho -

    Thanks for providing the steps.  I tried this and it worked fine for me.  Apostrophes really shouldn't cause an issue, especially in a web application.

    When you say there's an an error on some browsers, which browsers, and what's the exact error it gives you?  It might help us to diagnose the problem.

    To update this forum post.

    Based on information from another post, I tested this on portals and was able to duplicate this issue and am creating a ticket for it.
