In your case it would be limiting the records your users have access to only records assigned to them.
Just wanted to provide some more insight regarding this request. If you limit a users access to records it limits them across the board, so it wouldn't affect only the Leads or Activities screen, all records on all screens will be limited to that user only. Additionally, if you already have a large amount of leads that you wouldn't want to manually assign to an employee then you can always export the leads, edit them in excel, then upload them back into Method. The Import/Export tool is found under Customize > Integration Tools.

Edit the user's settings by going to Customize > Users then click Edit... next to the appropriate user. On the first step of the user edit screen you need to click the drop down list next to Link to Employee/Vendor/OtherName (SalesRep): and select the employee associated with that user. Test assigning leads by selecting that User in the SalesRep field. Alternatively you can create an activity for the lead and assign it to a specific user.

- Ashur

I don't want them to see all of the leads just ones that I assign to them. I know where to assign "Access to Shared Records" under users but I don't want them to see all of my records so I assigned where I can access their records but I don't know how to make the a shared record with them being the "owner".

How do I assign leads to a specific user and so their access be limited to only what's been assigned to them?

Your assistance is much appreciated!

Thank you.
