You are on to the answer with your sub-question #1 - the Estimate total is set to update when it syncs to QuickBooks, and as far as I know you can't call a Prepare for Accounting or Send an Email via a Method API call.

our workarounds are to calculate the Estimate Total ourselves if we need it right away (we do this within Method as well just in case the sync isn't working when the client needs to print or email a quote) and use other APIs to send emails, like Outlook.

How do I trigger a subtotal, tax and total calculation with the API?

I created an Estimate, then I added EstimateLines, but the subtotal/tax/total stays at 0. I tried sending a PATCH with very little data just to trigger an update, but it still stays at 0.

Do I have to calculate everything by myself?
