Setting Approval manager for a Vendor Portal user

I'd like my Vendors (sub contractors) to use the portal to enter timesheets and expenses (mileage, parking, etc.). I was able to add the Expense tab to the Vendor portal screen, but I can't figure out how to assign the Approving manager to a portal "user". The vendor list doesn't show up in the "User" list on the Manager's assign screen.

UNKNOWN TIME ZONE, REPORT CAN'T OPEN.

Hi guys.

I have a problem with a Report designer.

When want to open a existent report to modify, the Report designer show a message with error: UNKNOWN TIME ZONE.

How i can make to fix this problem and open a existent report?

Expense attachments?

Well I am sure that receipt attachments can be done in this but can not find out where to do it. Can somebody point me in the correct direction.

Files with an apostrophe in the name will not attach. Programming needs to allow for the possibility of an apostrophe in a file name.

Notify supervisor an expense report is ready for approval

Is there a way to notify the supervisor that an expense report has been submitted and is ready for approval? I was going to try to see if email templates could be triggered automatically, but I am having trouble finding documentation on creating email templates.

I am looking for a way for using my Droid3 and enter expences and have the ability to download them to quickbooks. Does your Expense program do that by chance? Or have any ideas?

Transaction type "Bill" - no vendor

If a user is set up for transaction type "Bill" where do you enter the vendor information so the transaction will go to QuickBooks? On the process screen it has you select the accounts payable account, but not the vendor. I get an error that it needs the vendor information.

Do you have a date when this App will be available as Alpha ?

Can a tax code be associated with an expense (for QB Canadian) ?

Can a currency be associated with an expense (for QB Canadian) ?

Expenses Dashboard - Not displaying reports

There is a known issue we are aware of on the Expenses Dashboard where the report list is not displaying any reports. We are looking into this already and will provide an update once we determine what the issue is.

YouTube is awesome! I spend more time on the site then I care to admit, all for educational purposes of course.

I can't think of a better place to upload movies and make them easily accessible to everyone. The videos work across all platforms and guess what? No need to install codecs. Amen!

Here are a couple of the videos I recorded today for Method Expense Reports. These 2 are for the Payment Methods and Category Types screens but it gives you a taste of what is coming for the rest of the app. Tell me what you think.

I installed the beta but the Expenses tab was not added to my Method Account. Only the Process Exepsnes and Approve Expenses tabs are visible.

Name needed for check, even though there are no reimburseable expenses.

Hi,

I set myself up as a user with the default transaction type of Check. I entered an expense that used the Credit Card - Company payment type, and was thus, non-reimburseable. When I tried to process the transaction after approval, it gave me an error message saying it needed a payee name on the check, even though I was not to be reimbursed for anything. Am I doing something wrong?

To get you started on the right foot with the beta, here are the steps you should take. Note that I’ll be calling “Method Expense Reports” short form “MER” throughout my post.

Subscribe to the MER Beta Forum

Subscribing to this forum group is key element of participating in the beta. If anyone posts any updates or questions during the beta, including myself, you are informed about it. For example, if I post an update to a known bug fix, etc. To do this, follow the steps below:

Go to the forum group:
http://www.methodintegration.com/cs/forums/20.aspx
Click Forum Subscriptions.
Scroll down to the bottom and find “Method Expense Reports Beta” and click Yes under the “Subscribe” column.

Install MER Beta into your Method account

Feel free to install MER in any of your Method accounts. Keep in mind that this is a closed beta for only MSP’s so do not install this on clients accounts until a public release. To install, follow the steps below:

Login to your Method account.
Click Customize.
Click My Account.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen and in the “Invite Code” type in ExpenseNForget2010
Click Apply.
MER will now appear in the list of apps to install. Click add this app now!
There will be a total of 4 roles that MER will install in your Method account. Click add this app now!

The names or the roles appear on the left side of the screen. On the right side of the screen, each dropdown list will indicate if the role needs to be created as a new role or if a matching name already exists. If a role with the matching name does not exist, please be sure to allow MER to create the new roles or the app will not work in certain areas.

This app looks to see if certain users have roles assigned with these names in order to show certain options. If you change the names of roles, it is not going to show those options since the roles are case sensitive. Just keep that in mind.
The last thing you will want to do is assign the appropriate roles to the users using Method.

Hi Everyone,

I am ecstatic about this brand new app. Why you may ask? I’ll tell you. A few months ago, this app started out as just an idea to solve a business problem for one of our partners. We quickly realized that this could be something that all Method users could benefit from and went to our Method Solution Providers community to ask them for their valued feedback. The feedback we received played a key factor in all the sketches that were produced and were reviewed by some members of the community. Over the next few weeks we turned a vision into reality and the end result is the app we are releasing today into beta.

Now I’ll caution everyone that this is beta so know what you are getting into. The initial version especially is missing core features that the final release will have. The goal right now is to try and get this into everyone’s hands early so that we can start testing it and iron out the retched “bugs” as quickly as possible. I’ll be listing some of the key areas and best practices for getting started and after that, you should be flying around within the app. I’ll also list areas to “watch out for” where bugs already exist and are being looked into. By all means though, if you find other “bugs”, post on the forum so we can look into it.

I’m confident you’ll be just as excited by this app as I am but as always, keep the feedback coming!
