Two QB sites synching with Method?

We've been using Method for a few years now, and we're about to expand our physical locations. I would like to have a QB database running in two locations, and have them both communicating through Method. Is that possible, or do I have to move to QuickBooks Online to make that work?

Indeed, Michael - two years ago almost exactly to the day, I was wrestling with the same errors. I guess that suggests that one or both of us is consistent, at least.

SalesRep table update issue

In attempting to update my SalesRep table, I kept getting the message that I can't update the field that (RepID) that I'm trying to use as a key field. In trying various combinations, it appears that I managed to process an update without checking the "update records" option - as a consequence, I now have 2x the original records, and I'm getting errors b/c of duplicate RepID's and Initials.

I've downloaded and re-edited the SalesRep table so that it no longer contains multiple values, but now I can't get it to re-import... and frankly, I don't know if that will eliminate the duplicates or not.

Can you give me some help getting this cleaned up?

Has Method server lost its password file?

Both my personal login and the Integration Engine are reporting password errors, although nothing has changed on our side. Is there a server problem?

I created the new table, MyRep, with only my active sales rep entries and the fields I need. However, I cannot link any fields between that table and my Customer table (from either direction).

I can probably ultimately figure out how to use actions to pull that into my email, but if I can't create a linked field, I'm unclear on how to get the correct MyRep data into the email.

In my offline conversation with Wayne, he suggested that 2.0 made this sort of thing much easier. Is that the case?

Michael - Yes, we tried that originally, but unfortunately some of our reps are neither employees nor vendors, but actually Other Names.

So, even though I can certainly edit the SaleRep table in Method - I've done so repeatedly - I can't import any updates to it, I can only add records. The fact that I can add fields doesn't really get me anywhere, because I can't add data to those fields for existing records.

And as far as SalesRep information is concerned, I'm limited to what QuickBooks stores in that table. It would be more than helpful if Method indicated that, somewhere - for all the tables that QuickBooks SDK won't let you edit. (In fact, one might consider suppressing them from the Customize | Fields/Tables screen altogether.)

I'll see if there's another way to accomplish my actual goal, which was simply to include SalesRep contact information on emails that I send out to prospects.

It took two more synchs and a lot of deleting, but I cleared out the extra records. Thanks for the instructions.

That said, although I'm successfully back to Square One, I still can't get the modified records to import and update the existing records.

If I select "Update existing records by matching key field(s)", then Method automatically selects RecordID as the key field. That makes sense, as it appears to be a unique identifier.

If I select "Do Not Import" for Record ID and attempt to Import, then I get the error:

ERROR: One of the columns you've selected in where
statement was 'RecordID' which was not added in step
'Prepare Data' of importing. Please add the specified column
and continue.

If I select "To Existing Field" and match up to RecordID and then attempt to import, I get this error:

You attempted to update values in the field "RecordID" which does not support edit. All columns except for 'RecordID' column were updated.

...which might sound encouraging, except that the next screen is a list of all 50 records, displaying the error:

Error:Failure. The Table does not support edit.

How do I configure this import correctly so that the records are updated with new data?

I deleted all such entries I could find within the 400+ conflicts shown. I now have 144 records, when there should be 50.

Next step?

QuickBooks returned an error when adding/modifying a accSalesRep record. The error was: There was an error when saving a SalesReps list, element "SS". QuickBooks error message: The name you have chosen is already associated with another sales rep..
