Application Server Error when trying to connect Method IA to QBO account

I receive the following error message when I try to connect Method to QBO via IA. It's been like this for the last 5 hours. Thanks.

Server Error in '/TestIpp' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

Yes, I've been working in the January version for the last week or so. It's very random in terms of when records are skipped. I've been looking for patterns, but I can't seem to find any. I could have problems after the loop has run through a couple hundred transactions, or after I've done a couple thousand, or not at all. It's across the board really.

The biggest problem that this creates is once this happens, I'm unable to go back in and run a loop on any of those failed transactions. I've also tried running a loop that was different than the original loop to see if I could connect to that transaction again, but the record won't update automatically. It's as if QuickBooks doesn't recognize them at all anymore. It seems to require a manual manipulation, but obviously for hundreds or thousands of transactions that need to be re-coded, that's just not feasible.

Method PUSH/API Call Limitations?

Is there a Method PUSH/API Call limitation of some kind?

I'm using a loop action in Method to update a large batch of transactions in a client's QB file. Although the loop action (including pushing updates to QuickBooks) starts off working well, Method stops updating QB after it has already processed a large number of changes. In effect, the records in Method are updated, but the changes will no longer push to QB, and after that the changes won't ever reflect in QB even if I do a partial sync or a full sync.

I notice that Method PUSH will pause for a bit, sometimes as much as several minutes, and then it will start pushing changes again. However, at some point it either skips over transactions, to update others, or it just stops processing altogether at some point. Is this possibly an issue with just queuing too many changes at one time? When I'm working with a smaller number of transactions, I tend not to run into this problem.

This seems to be the case for different types of transactions including JournalEntryLines, BillExpenseLines, etc. I am finding no conflicts to resolve under the QuickBooks Tab.

Thanks Paul, this makes sense. I've looked around quite a bit but I can't find any decent examples of how to properly use the "Send to Desktop" action via a loop when working with both transaction and detail tables. Here's what I have right now, but I'm a little unclear as to the placement and configuration of the Send to Desktop action.

Paul, I'm trying to modify journal entry lines via a loop. It loops just fine and updates the record in Method, and they show that they have been modified in the Method audit history, but nothing gets pushed to QuickBooks and i'm not getting any conflicts or other error messages in Method or on the Desktop.

Just to test it out, I created a journal entry from scratch in Method and that pushed to Quickbooks just fine.

I'm wondering if because the journal entries that transferred with the initial sync had the wrong field name in the JournalEntryLine table, as you noted above, if that would corrupt the syncing for those transactions.

Paul, I'm still having issues with this. The error message isn't showing up anymore, but when I make changes to the existing transactions, updates are still not being made in QuickBooks.

I tried doing a full sync in addition to a changes only sync, and nothing is happening. I'm wondering if I'll continue to have issues unless I wipe the slate clean by syncing the QB file with a new Method account.

Is there a way to do this so I can sync from scratch?

Method to Quickbooks Sync Issue

When we make certain changes to existing transactions in Method (in particular changes to existing journal entries), the changes save in Method, but they won't sync with Quickbooks, and I'm not getting a conflict/error message in the "Resolve Conflicts" screen. However, I do get the following error message, but I'm not sure if the two issues are related:

Error: Column 'IsAmountsEnteredInHomeCurrencyAdjustment' does not belong to table Table

This client uses the multiple currency feature in QB Enterprise 2012.

Can anyone help me out here?

I have a potential client with general concerns about what would happen to the technology should Method (or any software vendor for that matter) become insolvent. Does Method have its source code in escrow, or are there any other protections in place? I'm not as concerned with this myself, but if there's anything I can show to them, that would be helpful.

This is strictly a feel good/sales issue.
