Currently, I am working on an opportunity for a business that has two partners. Closing the sale requires activities with both of them; however, (1) the opportunities screen does not let me add the second partner to the company and (2) Method displays an error message saying I am attempting to re-enter an existing comapny when I try to enter the second partner as a contact from the contact screen.

Most of the time closing a sale requires converations with multiple people, sometimes they are in the target company and sometimes they are not. The partners fall in the first category. Othersiwe, many times I need to talk to a second comapny to gather data. This happens when apps are involved for pricing and/or technical questions. Can;t seem to find a way to gather this stuff up in one place.

In the second case, I can have the same vendor as a contact for multiple clients, many times with different contacts for different opporutnities. Just made notes (without a contact) on those conversations and enter the vendor's name, etc in the notes field.

Re: Identifying a customer/job

The problem is that the name of the job in the customer/job data structure does not appear on your customer list new Method. Customer/Job information is present in Method:Classic.

Also, just saw that Method:New continued to list customer/job instances for at least one job that I set to inactive. There should only be 5 instances, not 6 per the list in QB. Note that in Method:Classic there is more information about each instance (contact, alternate contact, etc.) as well as customer/job information. Sam and Kevin Mola are both contacts for the business , Frank is their accountant and there are 5 instances of customer/job. It is simply a list in Method:New and that makes it more confusing.

I like the pared down design of Method:New but I think these details are important because they represent different tasks.

Sent screen shots to method@methodintegration.com.

This is a particular problem with finding the proper customer/job ciombination in the grids. Customer name will appear multiple times -- there is no information about which job is associated with, say, the second or third instance of a customer. Can work around this is in Method Classic by using the heirarchial customer list in QuickBooks plus other information in the grid colummns. This is much more difficult in Method.new because less detail is available.

Holding company & subsidiaries

Have a new client who has a holding company and two subsidiary companies (with more to come), each one having a different EIN. I seem to remember a Method feature called 'Groups' (I think that is the name) that reminded me of the structure Joe Woodard has with his businesses. My client needs to access the individual EINs as well as the consolidated structure. Question #1 Is this feature still available? Question #2 Does this feature require Method Pro or is Method OK? Question #23 does this feature work with QBO?

Outllook Plugin

I have a Google Apps for business account. Last year I migrated outlook.pst to the cloud using Google Apps Mgration, Google Apps sync and Google Calendar Sync. Afterwards, I added the Google Gadget (the purpose of this whole exercise). This arrangement works great with my desktop, Method, Droid and iPad.

It looks like this arrangement has some overlap with the Outlook Plugin. Do you know if it is possible to add the Pulug-in without interfering with a setup that is working well?

You mean Gmail Gadget is the same as Google Gadget?? I have seen this screen before. If this is true, it looks like the lead has to send me an email in order to activate the gadget. This opportunity came in a phone conversation.

In the meantime, I entered the contact information from Outlook into Method.

In another case, I have the contact information in Method but not Outlook. Sent him an email from Method to see if that works. I expect that his reply will trigger the Gadget.

It appears that the Google gadget trigger is an incoming email. Is this correct?
