As a long time Method User and Quickbooks Enterprise User, I'm curious if the "New" Method will be available for desktop users in the near future. We have been patiently waiting for these updates as our workforce becomes more and more mobile, the need is greater today than ever for the Enterprise customer to have access to Methof on a Mobile solution.

Grid Dropdown Filter Issue

I'm running into an issue with one of my dropdown fields in a grid. In my Work Order Activities it has an option for Customer Equipment. It will not filter the choices to just the current customer. Instead its showing the entire table of equipment.

When I go into the screen and review the grid, the dropdown will not allow a filter nor will it allow a second column (which is the next thing I need help with). I've added an Equipment Location to the Customer equipment table so that we can seperate our customer's equipment into locations within the same shop. I can not add location as a second field in the dropdown.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Parent/Child Customer Equipment

I would like to add the parent/child functionality native to Quickbooks and implemented in Method to allow customer equipment to have "children." This is done in the Customer/Job relationship. Does anybody have ideas as to how to get started on this. I give a very simple illustration:

A customer has a truck that includes a tool box. I would like to make the truck a piece of equipment that belongs to the customer and the toolbox a piece of equipment that belongs to the truck.

I know this is a simplified example but I hope it gets the point across.

Your second "fancy" solution did the trick. I think without converting to character was causing the issue. Once it was converted, worked like a charm.

Paul,

If I move the END to the end of the statement, the case will not display the requested field unless it results in the ELSE portion of the CASE

I did try your suggestion but ended up with the same error.

So I have another one that I could use some help on. I want to be able to compare the current time to the requested start date and then color it red if its late. Here was my idea, but it returns "error generating grid"

CASE WHEN [DueDateStart] < GETDATE() THEN '' ELSE '' END + viewActivity.DueDateStart + ''

Any thoughts?

SQL Override Conditional Formatting

I'm trying to create a new dispatcher's dashboard and wanted to color code the Work Order grid based on the priority of the activity. I figured I could do something along the lines of:

CASE WHEN [viewActivity.ActivityPriority]='1-Emergency' then '' WHEN [viewActivity.ActivityPriority]='2-24 Hour Response' then '' ELSE END + '' + viewActivity.Entity + ' ' + '' + ISNULL(viewActivity.ActivityPriority,'') + ' ' + ISNULL(viewActivity.WorkOrderInstructions,'')

When I tried this I got "Error Generating Grid"

Do I have an issue with my CASE statement wrong or is this beyond the SQL Override?
