The issue I am having is creating one that will first break the proposals down by month and then show the number "Closed - Won" and the number "Closed-Lost" or "Cancelled." I basically want the OppCloseRatio report that shows the percentage break down to show a montly progression, as that is the report I have been looking at.

Report Designer: Help with Charts

I have been working with the report designer for a while now and I am trying to create a Bar Stacked chart showing the number of Opportunities Won and Lost broken down by month with one bar for each month. I have tried using the data filters in the Data tab but to no avail. I seem to be able to either get it to show the win loss ratio for the whole period or just a count of opportunites closed by month but not the closed status.

Report Designer Graphs and Charts

Hi,

I am working in the Report Designer and I am trying to create a bar or line graph that shows our new opportunities by count (not dollar value) by month over a 12 month period. For us new opportunities represent proposals made and tracking our monthly proposal activity is very important to our business. Do you have any documentation that you can share with me on how to use the chart generation wizard as I am finding it incredibly unintuitive, or explain to me how I would accomplish the above?

Thanks,

I am trying to update a couple of the default reports that you have in the system that generate the charts of the Home Dashboard and create a few new ones, some involving charts and some not. The major issue I am running into with any report involving a chart is that I can't seem to get back into the chart wizard once it has been closed. Is there anyway to get this to open back up after the chart has been generated to edit the graph? I have tried using the property grid on the right hand side but it doesn't seem to be getting the job done.

Additionally I am trying to create a count of new opportunity records entered by month so that my employer can track her monthly volume of proposals. I would like to create this as a graph and as a text report with a page break at the end of each month. I have watched both of the webinars covering report generation and still haven't really found an answer to my issues.

Thanks in Advance,

I have already changed the default colors of my site as a whole and they clash with it pretty horribly now . If you could point me in the right direction I would dearly appreciate it.

Re: New Opportunity Screen not saving all fields but Edit Opportunity does?

I figured it out. I needed to go to add fields instead of add objects on the customization page. I deleted the Objects I had added then readded them as fields, published the changes and then logged out and back in. Did a test and it works perfectly.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Re: New Opportunity Screen not saving all fields but Edit Opportunity does?

I expect this is the problem. On the non-working screen they say Dropdown Object Properties and on the working screen it says Dropdown Field Properties.

Do I need to delete the field and readd it on the non-working screen, and if so what options do I need to select to ensure that it ends up as a bound field.

Thanks so much, this was driving me crazy.

New Opportunity Screen not saving all fields but Edit Opportunity does?

I have customized both my New Opportunity Screen and my Edit Opportunity screen to include drop down fields for "Project Category" and "Project Type." I have included these in the Opportunities database as well. However, when I save the New Opportunity with information in these fields the information is not actually being saved. I noticed this when I looked at the Opportunities Grid which I have customized to include the columns for viewing Project Type and Category. Also if I go back into the Opportunity the two aforementioned dropdown fields are blank. This is where it gets weird. If I select the options again while on the "Edit Opportunity" screen and save, it works. The information is saved to the table and viewable on the grid. This however is vastly slowing down my data entry capabilities so it is not an acceptable solution. I will also note that I have not customized any part of the "Save" button's fuctionality although I have looked at all of the actions keyed off of both the working and non-working screen but I cannot see anywhere they are updating the fields in the Opportunity table. Is this something that is being done behind the scenes? The only other solution I have tried at this point is making sure that the Opportunity table has my "New Opportunity" screen set as the default screen for adding records and my "Edit Opportunity" screen as the default for editing records but it made no differenc.
