Using the new google/gmail gadget.

Paul, you and the team have outdone yourself. I wanted to write and congratulate you.

Every improvement you make, my business gets closer to being genuinely integrated, a 20 year dream.

Having tight integration with accounting & correspondence is over the moon for a small business owner. I cannot stress how important this improvement is for a hard working schlubs like us.

I have not tested all the functionality on my instance, but I ran some new cases, including adding contacts & the system nailed it.

I wanted to jump in on this thread, because I have a very similar scenario that I am having trouble representing in Method.

I am a building consultant. I get involved in building projects, which we track as "opportunities"

While working on project, I communicate with multiple trades who we do not sell or buy from (contacts) not vendors or customers

The first contact, in this example; is a plumbing contractor (1). His foreman on the site is a sub-contact(1b), related through the plumbing company.

Another contact is an electrician. (2)

Another contact is the building owner(3), he has a sub contact of "project manager" (3b)

Another contact is the project Architect. (4) He has two junior associates (4a & 4b)

Not too difficult, right...

Heres the twist.

Add another project P2

Same Owner (P2-3) different project manager (P2-3b)

Same Architect (P2-4) one different associate (P2-4a & 4c)

Different Election (P2-2alt)

Same Plumber and Foreman.....

Thats the basic schema. Multiply by 20 with infinate variations & you have an idea of the complexity.

What I want CRM to do is: Poll the database for Opportunity or project & return associated contacts and companies.

Poll the database for sample company (electrician) and return associated opportunities.

Ideally, I would be able to poll database for opportunity records....and return group emails or case emails associated with project.

Do you understand the question?

Do you have advice for implementing process?

Advice on Creating "Call Sheet Report" from open Activities Tab

In another application I was able to filter my contact list by open activities, then print out a bar chart with active contacts Mobile, office & alternate phone numbers. It was a great way to use driving and waiting time while on the road.

The salesman would write their notes on the paper and update at the end of the day.

Can someone recommend a report that may be close to what I am looking for that already exists.

Would this be facilitated by adding "print call list" button to Activity screen.

Reviewed your google gaget description in email. Beta may be due out soon. Sounds great. I will gineau pig if you'll let me.

Your described functionality is beyond my hopes. I think key feature is correspondence threading to opportunities, cases (especially cases!) and work orders. (i said, you said) now you have history recording function (activity) that could be replaced by automated threading links.

Believe it or not Act before 2006 had this nailed. Then they screwed the whole thing up. (it wasn't cloud based either....doah)

Paul, Thanks for the heads-up. I will try your way because of the possibility to future modify the form using web forms. Thanks for the bits of code, beyond my present ability. In the meantime, I had created a google spreadsheet form and hosted it. It spits out an excel like spreadsheet with the replys. My plan was to use your csv import wizard on the data. It should work fine once I save a mapping.

Off topic: I had built a really nice small business server, 15 seats in the office, full application suites, Drobo backup and Pirhanna firewall with remote access for an additional 35 sales reps. Professionally managed. Spent a wad. User adoption at the office, NIGHTMARE! When I opened my consulting firm...? Google offered much of the same functionality without any capital and no ongoing IT. The application suites were already built in. If I needed someone to collaborate, I just used share or bought a domain license for them for the year, so we had control of the output. Totally light and flexible. Thats were Method fits in to the plan. We have hosted CRM already, but there is disconnect between financial and sales. I am trying to close that hole. The speed and flexibilty of apps hosted gmail is addictive. If Method addresses this, I am ahead.

i cannot get the web leads form to load on my website. does anyone have specific instructions for uploading sample form from google sites interface? I tried saving as personl gaget but i am recieving syntax error on line 6. it appears to be bad table reference. i am not an idiot but my coding days are long behind me. try to keep it simple.

Update: I tried inserting an "html box" on a web page. The error posted was 0+0: "with" boxes are not allowed.

Any suggestions?
