Can someone please point ne in the right direction on this? I am trying to use "Enter Value into Field on Screen" but I want to trim the first 9 characters. (It is either Billable: or Overhead:)

I have been through all the functions and have tried different combinations of them - but not working yet.

I see join with space, comma, etc. But is there somehow to split it?

Get right doesn't work because the information after the colon is various lengths.

Get left doesn't work because it just gives me Billable: or Overhead: which I want to remove.

Thank you,

But, just in case for other times - is there a way to filter a dropdown similar to assigning a view on a screen load or something similar?

Re: Filtering dropdown menus

For this client/user - they think these are the only ones he will need.

There is one other user (Admoin) who will have access to everything, but she will be working almost exclusively in QuickBooks at least for now.

As far as others in the future - now, it is a no, but you know how that changes!

Filtering dropdown menus

Hi all,

Can someone please point me in the right direction to filter a dropdown menu?
For example, I have a setup where a user only needs access to 8 vendors. On the Grid I have a custom filter to show only those 8.

This user also has access to create a PO, but only for those 8 specific vendors. That is where I have the problem - the dropdown for "Vendor" shows the entire list.

They don't even want him to see that there are other vendors or be able to create POs for any except his vendors.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

He changed his mind. An attachment instead of a link will be fine.

Can you point me to the documentation on that please? Or, point me in the right direction?

Thank you,

I am trying out another solution that I think will work for this customer.

If this doesn't work - I will see if you can point me in the direction I need to go to attach a file to the email.

I was wondering if this had been changed and the portal can be disabled entirely.

I have a client who does not want to use it at all. He wants to send PDF invoices as he has done in the past from QuickBooks.

I understand the why's of this, but he still does not want his customers receiving the link at all. I considered the blank tab - but would that not just make it look like something is broken? I have not tested it yet, but seems if we point to a blank tab - they will still get a link but instead of to an active page just to a blank one.

Thank you,
