We purchase items to be stored and sold out of a warehouse but we also sell direct from our suppliers to our customers. The current view in the Purchase order screen list all items in alphabetical order and lists the item for both the inventory and non-inventory versions.

For example

Customer A wants to but 15 widgets from us and have them shipped to him. We don't have that many in stock so we send a PO to the supplier to ship direct to the customer.

The next we decide to put in a stock order to bring the items into our warehouse to have to fulfill future orders.

In our system we have two item codes for widgets

Inventory = Widget_Acme

Non-Inventory = Widget Acme

Is it possible to filter the item selections in the purchase order screen based on where the items are shipping to, so that any direct shipments to customers only the non-inventory items show up? Conversely if the item ordered is to go to the warehouse that only Inventory items appear in the grid?

It is a Decimal field.

Re: Automatic Rounding

Adam,

It is a custom table that includes multiple fields that have the same setup (decimal, 2 places) but this particular field rounds to an even number. I changed over to the January version and it still is doing the same thing.

Automatic Rounding

I have setup a screen where we can enter our sales data. After we enter all our info into the form we hit the save button. If we refresh the grid and select the record we just entered one field gets rounded and I cannot get it to stay as what we entered. For Example we enter our cost as 1.61 it rounds to 2.00 when we recall the record, but it calculates the correct profit margin as if it was still 1.61. I have check everywhere I can think of and nothing is setup to round.

As far as the suppliers and Items we have probably 15-20 suppliers and over 200 total items from those suppliers.

I put an action on text change for the first dropdown to load the second section and filter the dropdown for items based on the selection from the first dropdown.

Your second section for items could be grid based if you needed to select more than one. You could then add a third section for additional information then processing to make the layout clean.

[/quote]

As far as the action on text change and update the values is that real heavy duty coding in the screen? or is there a short cut on an existing screen that I could "cut and paste"

Table Issues

I am trying to create a form for our sales reps to enter data from a sales call into.

They need to select the supplier and based on that selection give them a dropdown list of items by that supplier to choose from.

a. is that possible

b. do I need to create a new table to with just the supplier and items listed to pull data from?
