Hi, Drabert!

Great question.

It is possible to customize and edit screenlets, but considering the insights dashboard is still in beta, we have the customization aspect behind a feature flag.

However, it does require a strong understanding of customization.

I would highly recommend talking to your account manager to discuss further options.

You also asked:

I'm not too sure which report you mean, but there are a number of ways to show a single stat.

For example, here's a screenlet that show the value for Overdue Invoices:

This is doable via customization.

I don't know what the configuration for those actions are, but yes, that should work. :)

As long as you have the right RecordID for your estimate, it should be fine.

By the way, in the future, when you get more comfortable with customizing, I would find a way to make it more robust and future-proof by creating a screen that will allow the user to choose what items gets added to the estimate lines.

Guessing from what you have in the action set, it looks like what you are inserting is hard coded into the actions.

Hello, Tim!

The "Insert new row to grid" action is in our legacy Method:Classic interface.

I'm assuming you are in the latest version of Method.

To add prefilled options to the Estimatelinedata grid, you will need to add directly to the EstimateLine table.

And, of course, you will need the Record ID of the current Estimate you are in to make sure you are updating the correct estimate.

You may remember back in January when Ben wrote a blog post about Importing Customers and Contacts into Method:CRM.
We decided that we would take that one step further and create a video for you!

However, in this video, we’ve made a slight change. We don’t cover how to import Customers, because we have a whole video series on Importing Customers and Customer Leads.

Instead, we talk about importing Contacts, and in particular, when you have more than one contact for a Customer!

Hello, and welcome to another Method CRM blog post written by me, Errol!

I haven’t written a blog post in a very long time. Lynda has favourites and I’m not one of them. Ha! I’m kidding.

Anyway, I have so many things that I want to talk about. For example, did you know that in our Help Center, I have listed out all my videos? You did? Did I already mention that? Well, it’s good to have a reminder regardless.

And this is growing!

Did you also know that Jason and myself have been at Method for a year? That’s right, it’s our one year anniversary and we wrote a song. I don’t know why we’re sharing this song but we are giving you full permission to mock us.

And finally, I have two video series to give you and that’s the Google Gadget Plug-in, as well as the Outlook Plug-in. If you are not aware that you can use these plug-ins to help integrate Method more into your CRM workflow, well now you know. Check out the documentation that Alex has updated, and then take a gander at these videos.

New CRM Video Series: Scheduling and Invoicing

Anyway, you haven't heard from me in a while because I've been working on videos. And they are finally done! You have no idea how happy I am that this series is complete.

We have nine tutorials on Scheduling and Invoicing for you, and they cover the topics:

These tutorials were created with the help of Michael Melo, who knows everything. Poor guy, I was emailing him on a daily basis.

Happy Holidays from the Documentation Team

Allo and Happy Holidays!

Wow! Not only have I not blogged in a while, this will be my last blog of the year! Have I been working on things? Yes! I have! And I will hope to get them out before the year ends.

However, I need to share a video with you! A Happy Holiday video that Alex, the documentation guy, made with me! Alex decided he wanted to get in on all the video tutorial fun so we did a joint one:

It was a lot of fun to make! I think my office mates were wondering why we were yelling in the next room.

Anyway, what is coming up? Well, I am working on new Field Service videos and I am hoping those will get done before holidays hit! And we are also converting the webinars that required the GoToMeeting codec to normal youtube videos!

What does that mean? Remember the webinar page that we had (which has now been moved to the help center)? Well, a few of those videos required a codec in order to be viewed. We’re converting them so that you can now view it on YouTube and not worry about downloading and installing anything on your computer! Huzzah!

For a sneak peak, we've converted all the Customization Webinars and they are now available as a playlist on YouTube.

Soon you will not need the Codec to watch our Webinars!

Cases Video from Errol on Halloween!

Allo, and welcome to Method’s weekly blog! Or is it bi-weekly now? I’m not sure! Anyway, today is Halloween so a few people from Method dressed up. (I dressed up as a cat because my daughter wanted me to wear ears.)

Also, I recorded myself pretending to be a cat with Alex, who dressed up as ‘Grumpy Dad’ because his son kept him up way later than should be legal.

Of course, you probably aren’t here to watch cat videos, or at least, you don’t reference this blog as a source of cat videos. What I do have for you are more tutorial videos!

In this series, we take a look at Cases. In fact, I help Bob Crenshaw through a problem he is having with his pen. I’ve heard that this is one of my more tame videos, at least that’s what the folks around the office says, so judge for yourself!

Anyway, they’ve been handing candy out at the office, and this is not really good for lack of will, so I guess I’m going back to the kitchen to get some. I hope you guys have a great weekend, and hey, tweet me your costume at @Method_Elumir!

New Method CRM 'How-To' Videos: Opportunities & Transactions

Allo! And welcome to this week’s Method blog. My name is Errol, and had this blog post come out on Friday, it would have been October 11th! And that would have meant that I had been with Method for 8 months! So close!

However, it’s only the 10th, so it’s been 8 months minus one day! HUZZAH! I hope Lynda buys me lunch. Not that I’m hinting or anything. No. Not at all. No sirreee….

But if she does buy me lunch, I want fish and chips!

Anyway, guess what I have for you? More videos! Of course I have more videos, that’s the only reason why they let me blog on here. Oh, and in case you missed it, did you see the last video we made? It was for the PwC Innovator of the Year award! I hope you were able to tweet that out! Also, can I just say working with the Method actors was a lot of fun?!

Hah. “Method Actors.” Get it? … Ok, moving along…

Anyway, the latest videos I have are on Opportunities and you can find them on our Youtube channel! I cover creating an Opportunity, editing an Opportunity, and the Opportunities List. And it’s all in its own playlist to make life easier for you.

Oh, and if you missed it, I have a playlist of Transaction videos too! There are four videos: Estimates, Sales Orders, Invoices, and Receiving Payments.

And that’s it for this week. It’s Thanksgiving for Canadians so I know that all I will be doing is eating. Mmmmm…
