If we have two fields with similar names, let's say CustomTable.field1 and CustomTable.field10, then merge fields will never replace "field10" -- instead it replaces "field1" and appends the "0" to the end. Had I known this in advance, I would have designed my table fields otherwise -- but at this point, without going and changing everything which refers to this table field, is there a way to override this parsing through special syntax?

Thanks,

However this is highly disappointing given other possible customizations in Method, since there are obviously many uses for an HTML input window that has more than 7 input lines, and this clearly affects a user's efficiency in using such screens.

Please consider this an official request for that functionality, and I also suggest clearer documentation on the customization window in the meantime since these two options which are incompatible appear side-by-side.

I've been able to go back and edit a bit as well, so Firefox is certainly working the best of the bunch, and I'm not having problems with it anymore.

I did start out using Google Chrome (with many problems -- but only on this web-to-lead form within Method, everything else seems ok), but eventually switched to Safari and that may be the reason for my partial success. I may have initiated some form attempts in Chrome before switching to Safari, which I'm sure compounded my problems.

HOWEVER, I have spent another lost couple of hours just now creating the form from scratch in Safari, encouraged in thinking it might be just a problem with Chrome. I'm disappointed to report that I got all the way to the bottom of the Step 8 table with all my edits, clicked finish, and received a proper screen detailing 2 errors (if it matters, fields should be required to use them in a formula). On clicking edit on those fields to try to correct the problem, I apparently lost my cache again, and was sent back to step 2 with all my information lost --- again.

I guess I will try Firefox next, as you mention it by name, but am disappointed it's not just Chrome. You should at least put a temporary warning on the Web-to-Form screen of which browsers are supported, so others don't have to lose a work day as I just did. Ok, back to it, from scratch again since presumably my newest attempt is "broken" too.

-Philip

What I'm finding is that whenever I load an existing web-to-lead form, or start one from scratch, when I click back to Step 2, the Customer table is unselected and all the choices are gone. It's possible to put them back in and jump to step 8 to edit, but I'll have to start from scratch and not make any mistakes the first time through. Frustrating. Any tips or solutions? This shouldn't be so hard.

Re: lead form just go AWOL

Hi Method Team,

I also had a similar problem. I tried several different ways to build a web-to-lead form, and was only successful when I created the most basic, automatic version. If I edited the fields at all, I was been able to get as far as step 8 only once by click through the "Next" buttons, and that time when I first tried to update a caption got the same error as follows. I typically now (with different initial settings) can reach step 7, and on clicking "Next" am given the error:

Please select at least one field before proceeding to final stages of the wizard

It then appeared that all my Customer Table selections and ordering were gone! Highly unsettling. I re-entered everything, then went to the Menu link in the top right as suggested above, and was able to jump from my completed step 2 directly to step 8 with no errors, where I was this time able to edit the caption fields. Everything looks ok now, but this was far from intuitive and something funny is going on there. Now to test the rest of the operation!

Cheers,
