The lack of a customer ID number is very tough for us because our clients are families with children. The parents often have different last names than each other or the child. So when we sell a product for a child, we have a problem where we have 2 customers paying for one contact. Reconciling these transactions is a nightmare.

Let me reiterate - I need to have the customer number appear on the transaction in BOTH Method AND Authorize... so I can reconcile them.

Along the same vein... does the Tax ID number in Method Sync with the Tax ID number in Authorize? If it does, I could possibly use this field to help with reconciling.

Thank you for your help!

Re: Problems with RCN and AT&T?

Thank you for the suggestion, James. We tried that but it doesn't help. One thing we noticed is that we can sign onto one account with no problems. Once we sign into more, every screen freezes.

It sounds suspicously like Throttling from RCN - which is illegal in Massachusetts.

Security Certificate Upgrades to api.authorize.net

As part of our continuous upgrades to enhance system performance and security, on September 21, 2015, we are upgrading api.authorize.net to new security certificates, which are signed using Security Hash Algorithm 2 (SHA-2) and 2048-bit signatures.

These upgrades were already completed onsecure.authorize.net in May. If your website or payment solution connects to api.authorize.net and any updates are necessary to use the new certificates, please refer to this blog post in our Developer Community, which has all of the certificate information you and your developer will need for this update. Our sandbox environment has already been updated so that you can validate that your solution will continue to work using SHA-2 signed certificates, prior toSeptember 21st.

After the update is complete on September 21st, any website or payment solution that connects via api.authorize.net that cannot validate SHA-2 signed certificates will fail to connect to Authorize.Net's servers.

IE: Can I make a conditional question that asks them if they have contacted us before and if they say "Yes", it brings up a form that will not create a new lead?

Or do you have any other solutions for how to handle the fact that current customers or leads will use the web form and it will generate another lead - which then has to be deleted by our staff and the activity assigned to the existing lead?

I already have a support ticket open for it. It's a bigger issue than it seems for us because we do dozens to hundreds of sales receipt transactions a day.

I discovered that for about the past 2 months (still checking if it's more) if a staff person deletes a transaction because it's wrong, it does NOT sync with QuickBooks Online and remove the transaction from QBO. This is very problematic because I now have a possible double entry for the same transaction.

Because of this, I have to go back and reconcile all of my sales receipts in QBO against Method. A very time consuming activity. However, I have uncovered *thousands* of dollars in duplicate transactions which have falsely inflated my revenue.

Anyone else have this issue? Try making a sales receipt in Method, then sync, then delete it. See if it removes it from QBO. If it doesn't and you use Sales Receipts often, you have a big headache in front of you.

Re: Web form question

Greg,

Thank you for your patience and explanations. In my experience, Method (or at least Quickbooks) does not accept 2 customers with the same email address. When someone inputs a contact through our web form and uses their email address, will Method still accept this contact with the identical email as the contact that's already in use?
