Gmail gadget slow to add new contact/activity or doesn't add at all

Am I the only one having these problems?

When I try to add a new contact from the Gmail gadget, sometimes it takes minutes (maybe 5 minutes).

About half the time I try to add new activities, the activity does not get added at all...although the gadget cycles back to the proper screen as if it had added the activity.

Any thoughts?

Strange html behavior in email templates

I have discovered that if you paste html text from another application like Gmail or Google Docs into a Method email template...some html attributes like bold and font color sometimes disappear. And while troubleshooting I also discover that this even happens if you have bold or colored html text within a Method email template, and then paste the text right back into the email template text box. The bold and font colors often disappear.

Has anyone else noticed this? And perhaps figured out a fix or workaround?

Cutting and pasting text from different sources is pretty key to our workflow, so we're really hoping to find some kind of solution.

Maybe it’s because I am a newbie, but I can’t make this work.

Could you break it down into steps for me, something like this:

* Step One: Go to Customization>Tables/Fields>Activity>Edit Fields>Make new field (I got that far!)

* Step Two: Etc.

Your instructions below assume a lot of previous knowledge I just don’t have…YET! (But I am learning fast and I’m blown away by what we can do…)

When you say below things like “You will then insert the Action Result into the custom field you created on the Activity table” – I just have no idea how to do that.

Great to hear about the new cross platform version, do you have some kind of timeline you can share with us?

As far as “issue” go when using the desktop version on a mobile brower...can you share what kind of issues we’re talking about?

Finally, is there any kind of customization or personalization possible with the mobile version? If so, can you tell me how to access settings?

In the FAQs it says:

"Browser-based versions of Gmail users - the Gmail Gadget works in all major, modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, FireFox, IE8+). It does not work in mobile versions of Gmail (neither mobile browser optimized versions nor native versions)."

But if you monkey around with gmail your browser (not gmail app, and maybe the mobile browser must be Chrome?) you can choose the desktop version of gmail on your iPhone, iPad or Android device and the Google Gadget works great. I also find that the user experience within Method on a tablet (iPad or Android) is better when using the desktop version, not the mobile version.

FWIW, although I have only done limited testing to date, the one thing to note is that the text of email templates in iOS shows up as html. On Android, it displays as rich text. I haven't found a workaround for this yet, and it may make us choose Android over iOS devices in the future.

I would be happy to upload photos or a video somewhere, if that would be helpful to others.

I was also referring to the benefit of using meeting invites (ical) with people who are outside of your organization and who DO NOT use Method. The meeting invite allows them to click the "Accept" button to automatically add the appointment to their calendars no matter what calendar program they use, and also to automatically check for conflicts.

This is a great questionsand I'm hoping we do get some ideas from the community. I want to make sure I have the correct idea. The idea is to send an meeting activity to an employee.

Unfortunately, I've not seen this available in Method emails. On the other hand, I did have an idea. You can add a link to a custom page where an employee can accept or say they can make the meeting. Say they select the meeting activity from the grid and click a button called 'Accept'. It can save a value to a custom field on the activity and send you an email that the meeting has been accepted. The custom field can then be used to montior acceptance of a meeting.

Meeting requests from Method

I'm curious to know how others create and send meeting requests or meeting invites after scheduling an activity in Method.

With Method I can send an email, but what I really need to do is to send a meeting request for that meeting I just scheduled and added to Method.

Has anyone found an creative, easy way to do this?

How to "Generate Reports"?

I am new to Method, so I hope I am not asking a stupid question.

If I go to customer>Customer Reports and hit "Generate Report" button...I get the little spinning wheel, but a report never shows up? Where should I be looking?
