Has anyone else gotten through these hurdles without giving up? We love the Method CRM but we can't get particularly the critical document feature that was advertised to come close to the promised functionality.

SMS texting of reminders has not worked, does not work, nobody knows why.
SmartVault integration has been a total disaster of a critical feature that helped us choose this CRM.

The SMS seems like a simple one, but so far no luck.

The SV integration, all everyone does is point fingers at the other company. If Method and the others are going to advertise the feature works, it should. One of three user accounts SV works on the method webpage, but there is no ability to attach anything from the google gadget in gmail. On the other two accounts the google gadget gmail attachment feature works, but there is no ability to use SV from anywhere in their Method accounts.

SV is a great idea, but I think it'd be easier if Method just added extra storage options and similar features because best we can tell nobody at SV, Method or anywhere else understands why sometimes the integrations don't work, or how to fix them aside of repeating the process over and over a million times. Very frustrating. Going on a week+ now, no end in sight.

SmartVault really hasn't been any help. It seems like an issue only IT people with log access are going to figure out, but I can't get anyone to make that type of committment in favor of just saying it's the other integrator that has the issue. Anyone have a recommendation of a contact at Method that can get this done?

Stand alone method works fine, the integration with smart vault doesn't appear to come close to working as is advertised. I'm curious if any other new accounts are having similar issues?

Outstanding. I just hadn't seen anyone talk about it here or in the FAQs and figured it's not something your team would see unless they did a fresh install. Glad to hear that support is continuing. As Google continues to refine their biz offerings it's a smart integration.

The Gadget will no longer be available as of 10/1/14 for users to download unless Method updates it. That will leave mac users entirely out in the cold.

Careful, unless they update the Gmail app before 9/30/14 you won't be able to download it, and after about May of next year they stop supporting it entirely (Google) which will prevent it from accessing the information I think.

Hoping to hear some good news on this next week. Seems like this is something that needs to be done in the next few weeks.

Method Gmail Gadget Gone from Play Store 9/30/14

Not sure if the Method team is aware of this but Google is saying your gadget will be pulled from the available downloads on 9/30/14 due to it using the previous/deprecated version of OAuth. This would mean no new clients will be able to install it after that point, and existing clients that have to redownload for whatever reason will be out of luck. Significant issue if one of the reasons for signing up with CRM was the Gmail integration.

Here's the specific message:

This application uses OAuth1.0, which has been deprecated and will no longer be installable for single sign-on after September 30, 2014. Worse after 4/15 and of your users currently using it will sign in to find it no longer works per the deprecation policy:

"Deprecation Policy

Google will announce if it intends to discontinue or make backwards incompatible changes to this API or Service. Google will use commercially reasonable efforts to continue to operate those Google Account Authentication APIs versions and features identified at http://developers.google.com/accounts/accounts-api-list without these changes until April 20, 2015, unless (as Google determines in its reasonable good faith judgment):

It'd be great if someone could comment on this officially from Method. We were about to migrate to G Apps for this specific reason and that'd be a waste if you're not going to update the software and it's going end of life. Apparently this cutoff date has been well known for years yet this feature is still being advertised pretty heavily on the site. Hoping to hear a fix will be ready by 9/30 Thanks

Audisho, thank you and it appears it's working. That said partnering with the hosts should mean the setup is smooth as I assumed all of these processes were worked out and the partner host appears to be unaware of the requirement. I did provide our rep the correct, direct number yesterday and again today but it looks like you called the automated line.

This appears to be a far better service than other offerings - I think identifying the form of client at signup would help avoid the issue as apparently all clients hosted in a similar way need this modification.

Initial Setup with Partner Integration

As partners...you really should work this out with the two that are on the list because this hasn't been smooth with the partner host not aware of the added step on your end with setting up roaming. I'm not really able to find any documentation on it although I do recall seeing it at one point so I had nothing to show them.

Overall it seems like a nice product but the support process so far is cumbersome and unimpressive. I went with a partner host to avoid this exact issue. I realize most are probably not using a similar setup but in the event that we are, and paying Method an extra fee per month to the host for the integration...it should be smoother and in sync.
