Increasing Drop-down Item Character Length or Showing Full Value on Mouse Over

Hello,

When creating estimates we have a problem because the sales description in the Item drop-down list gets truncated and the user can't see the full description. Many of our items have an identifier at the end of the description indicating if the tem is discounted or if it is a promo item. This causes the user to have to add the item to the grid to see the full description and then rinse and repeat if it wasn't the correct one. We have a ton of items and the FullName isn't any help because it it a SKU from the manufacturer that does not inticate what the actual item is.

Is there any way to increase the number of characters displayed in a drop-down column, or supress truncating? If not, is there any way that mousing over the item that is truncated could show the full value?

Default Value for "Assign To" Dropdown in Outlook Add-In

Hello,

Is there any way to setup a default value for the "Assigned To" field in the Outlook plugin? It currently defaults to the username that you use to login to your method account. This requires manually changing this field every time. Wouldn't it make more sense if you could set a default employee for that field?

Please diregard this post. I figured out that either it didnt like the commas in the prices. This isn't a problem when uploading new items however.

Hello,

I am trying to upload items to the ItemNonInventory table. The items I am uploading are currently in the table so I am selecting the checkbox to match on the RecordID field. The CSV file I am uploading has 3 columns (RecordId, SalesPrice, PurchaseCost). The data passes validation but then I get the following error for all rows.

Error:There was an error in MethodAPIinsertV2

Is this an error on your side, or am I doing something wrong?

Hello,

I am finally getting around to implementing the customer portal on out site. I have a secure site so I want to use the iframe option. The problem is that the iframe doesn't dynamically re-size according to the content which result in either scroll bars or way too much whitespace to start (if I hard code in the height). Both of these options look very unprofessional and are not seamless at all.

I have been doing some research on cross domain iframe re-sizing and it looks like you could include some Javascript on the SOURCE domain (your side) that would send the height of the content to the HOST domain (my side) for use in dynamically re-sizing the HOST iframe. I have posted a link to a great resource below. Would you be willing to implenet somethinglike this so that we can seemlessly integrate your portal with our sites?

Report Designer: Chart Filters

Hello,

I would like to add a chart to the opportunities dashboard that displays the sum of the ExpectedRevenue field for opportunities closed in the previous 30 days by user. I made a copy of the graph used to display the pipeline by user to modify. I added a field to the Opportunities table called "ClosedDate" that stores the date that an opportunity is assigned a status of "Closed Won". I know how to add a data filter to only show the sum of ExpectedRevenue for the records with an OpportunityStage of "Closed Won", but I can't determine how to filter the "ClosedDate" field for a date range. Is there a way to retrieve the current date in the report designer? Can the DateAdd function be used in the report designer? Any help is appreciated.

I was wrong...there was in fact a script being applied to the field in order to calculate the price of the item. The formatting was hard coded into the script. I updated the format to "c" in the script which is the standard format for currency and it works fine now. I will paste the line below in case others find it helpful. Sorry for any confusion.

Replaced:

xrItemPrice.Text = Microsoft.VisualBasic.Format(xrItemAmount.Text / xrItemQuantity.Text,"$#,##0.00###")

With

xrItemPrice.Text = Microsoft.VisualBasic.Format(xrItemAmount.Text / xrItemQuantity.Text,"c")

Report Designer Not Formatting Money Field Correctly

Hello,

Today we noticed that our customer estimate report was showing the price for one of the line items as $641.66333. The other line items all were displayed correclty with 2 decimal places but all of these ended in 00 (such as $1100.00). I thought it had to do with the formatting in the report design, but the format for the field is set correctly to {0:$0.00}. I tried different formats but they did not effect how the number was displayed. When I set the fomatting to {0:#.00} the dollar sign was still printed and the 5 decimal places still printed on the one line item. I made sure there were no scripts in the report and then tried it with the default "Simple Estimate" report. I had the same formatting issue with the stock report. The field being displayed incorrectly is [EstimateLine.Estimate.Rate] which is a "Money" field. It look like the formatting in the report designedr is being ignored when being applied to this type of field when it has more than two decimal places. Any ideas on why this is happening?

I know how to build the selection list. My question is once the selection list is built, how do you loop through the values in the selection list one by one and do "some action" on each of the items.
