Do you have a timeline for when Invoice creation will be put in place? If it is far off in the future, I will look at the Sales Order App as you suggested and try to figure it out. Thanks for the help.

Hi Ben,

The app ribbons work. However I was hoping to pass the Active Record ID of the Contact to my Jobs App when the +New button is clicked. I noticed that other apps are able to do so. What is the process they use to grab the Active Record ID information?

How does one create an invoice from an estimate then? Is there no way to do that? It seems like something that you should be able to do. Thanks for replying to my forum posts.

Create an Invoice from an Estimate

I'm struggling to figure out how to create an invoice from an estimate. According to the help section it should be as simple as clicking on the "Create Invoice" button. Unfortunately I don't see the button. We're using Quickbooks Online and the estimate that I'm trying to create an invoice from is Active. Am I missing something? Do I need to upgrade the app or something?

App Ribbon New Button

Hi,

I successfully created an App Ribbon for the Contacts App from my custom Jobs App. See attached image. When I click on the +New in the Contacts App, App Ribbon, I want to get the Active Record ID of the Contact so a new Job can be created with that Contact Active Record ID prefilled. All standard Apps (Invoice, Estimates, Opportunities) are able to do this. I poked around in the standard apps but could not figure out how that information was passed.

I'm assuming that you have to set a sharedResult in the Contacts App then pass it on to my Jobs App but there aren't any events that I can use to trigger actions for the app ribbon.

Sort Error

Hi,

Whenever I try to sort the Contacts App List Screen Grid by an expression such as "Phone & Email" and a new expression I created called "BoatTypes" the contacts app list screen throws an error. Below is the error I get.

If the problem persists, sign out, sign in, and try again. If the problem remains, please contact your account administrator Method Technical Support or Method Support (support@method.me).

Also Expressions do not show up in the advanced searches. We need to ability to sort with expressions such as "Phone & Email". According to the settings of the grid it should be possible.

Error Accessing Contacts Table "Error..."

Hi,

I'm experiencing an error in accessing the Contacts table. I go to Preferences > tables/field > Contacts and all I get is "Error..." Please see attached screenshot for reference.

Also I'm unable to get to my Contacts list in the contacts app. I get the error message "Please try again. If the problem persists, sign out, sign in, and try again." See attached screenshot.

I believe this occurred since I added then deleted a table that I used as a dropdown in Customer which was linked to Contacts. Anyway we need access to Contacts restored for Method to be useful for us. I am a user of Method for a company called Raptor Deck.
