    Error: Invalid Company Account. Check the spelling and try again.

    I am trying method for the first time, and am using a qb sample company.  I have quickbook opened and the company opened.  But when I try to connect using method, I get the above error.

     

    I am using quickbooks pro 2010 and windows 7

     

    Thanks for any help you can give!

    Welcome to Method!

    1. You should be able to refer to your Welcome To Method Email which will contain your Company Account name. This should not contain spaces and you should also ensure you have not copied the period at the end of this name from the email.
    2. You can also contact your Business Systems consultant directly. Their contact info should also be found in the Welcome To Method Email.

    That got past the first error, but now I get:

    Warning: Could not start QuickBooks / QuickBooks is closed

    I have quickbooks Pro 2010 opened with a company file opened.  Was there any other set up that needed to be done to set the Quickbooks version or company file to work with?

    8.5 years later...

    The "company account" value is the subdomain that you access the Method web ui through for your company (or the one you are setting up the api implementation for).  If you can access the ui, you have this "keyword". 

    When you login to your account in a browser, you have to go to <something custom>.method.me.  That first custom part of the url is the "Company Account".

    For whatever reason, the documentation (and other info on this) is extremely nebulous.
