    Editing drop down items

How do I edit an item in a drop down list?  I want to change the wording on one of my items.

    Hi JKM@SA,

Every drop down is attached to a table so editing the records in that table will allow you to change the values in the drop down. Most standard Method drop downs have screens already created which will allow you to edit the records in drop down tables. Which drop down in particular do you want to change the wording for?

I am trying to edit an item in the Invoice Type drop down.  I want to change "To be invoiced" to "To be billed."  I see the Invoice Type screen and have it in "View" mode.  I just don't know how to edit the items.

    Hi JKM@SA,

I don't see a Invoice Type screen (I could be mistaken, what is the name of the screen?), if the screen itself doesn't exist then you will need to create it (It can be as simple as a screen with an editable grid).

We have a screen named "Invoice Type" related to the field ActivityInvoiceType.  I know how to add entries I just can't figure out how to edit existing ones.

JKM@SA - If you do end up renaming that field value, and are using Method Field Services, be prepared to do a lot of customization in many screens.  There are *A LOT* of places that look for and use the specific value of "To be Invoiced" that will all break as soon as you rename it.  You can do it......but be prepared for a lot of customization.

JKM@SA- You may need to customize that screen further and add a select to the grid or make the grid editable.

Ok, point taken.  I won't change "To be invoiced."  Would it cause problems if I changed "Invoiced" to "Billed"?  The reason I want to change one of them is because we can't segragate between "Invoiced" and "To be Invoiced" in the WO grid, i.e. you can't see only records that are "Invoiced."

    Answer

    JKM@SA,

You can try filtering the Invoice type by either, Does not contain To Be or Contains To Be to give you some segregation (In the filter header of a grid next to each filter field there is an arrow you can click that gives you additional filter options.)
