Re: Created new table, new records not always saving
I figured out why this is happening. I made this screen a pop-up that says it is a child of the screen it is coming from. What is happening is that even though the customer name is filling in, it isn't linking to the customer database. So, the records are saving, but not affiliated to any customer. This is not the first time where loading screens as "children" of the current record don't actually properly load and save the parent record name. Any suggestions to fix this issue?

When the record is saved is it being saved with a Customer name(If you bring up the record again or export it does the Customer name display)?
What fields are in this new table you created? Is the Customer field a drop down based on the Customer or Entity table?

Re: Created new table, new records not always saving
When I export, you can clearly see that some of the records are missing the customer name, though I saw first hand it was filled in on entry. So, it does save a record each time, but ~25% of the time it doesn't save the customer. It is a drop down field based on customer which auto fills in due to going to the screen as a child of the existing.

By any chance in that child screen are the users entering multiple
records at once? If they are, are they clicking Save & New (Or similar
button)?
On initially loading the child screen the value will be entered
but if they click Save & New it would clear out the value in the drop down.
If that's the case you could add some extra actions to the Save & New to
store the value and re-enter it onto the screen after the screen is cleared.

Re: Created new table, new records not always saving
No, we are just entering one record and I have a save and close button. It saves the section and closes the window. At all times they see the customer filled in, but when they save & close, it doesn't actually save that one particular field.

Re: Created new table, new records not always saving
It turns out this issue is more wide spread than I thought. It is also happening with contacts, where it appears to save, but it doens't actually save the customer so it is a detached contact. The issue only started appearing 10/21, which is about when I created that custom table.

Is this happening with the standard add contacts screen? Can you enable Method support so I can take a look at this?
I would need to create a dummy customer and try adding contacts to it.

Access has been given for Method support. As I mentioned, it is never all the time that this happens. Of the 30 contacts added manually since we went live on the system, it happened to 7 of them.

Answer
To update this forum post:
I suggested making the Customer field required in the custom table and to keep note if this continues to happen.

Re: Created new table, new records not always saving
This issue continues to plague us from the New Contact... link in Customers. I have a employee right now where over and over if he clicks New Contact... off a customer record, it does not link it to the customer. The header Add/New Contact for X is not filling in X. I can do the same thing and it works for me. He logged out and back in, same issue.

Could you give that user a temp password and email me that password and their username so I can try logged in as them? Using the MethodSupport user I have not been able to duplicate this issue.

Re: Created new table, new records not always saving
It is now happening to me this morning. Was fine yesterday, now I can't add a contact associated to a company. Since it is during business hours I am unable to give you access to those users and myself as I need the system. Can you try again w/ the support log in this AM?

I am still unable to duplicate this issue. Email me directly and we can set up a time where we can do a remote desktop and you can show me the issue yourself.
