Feild Service application on mobile devices?

Will there be a field service application on mobile devices coming out soon?  I see you have a xora connector but that is only for times out in the field. What about items?

    Hi Tony,

Our general rule is if you can launch a browser you’re able to login into Method. However, some of these smaller mobile devices make it a little tricky to properly display these screens and still keep Method simple and stylish as compared to using it on a larger laptop screen. Rest assured it’s something we’ll be working on and keep you posted when it becomes fully supported. Personally I can’t wait to see our industry specific apps like Method Field Services in this new style. Smile

All job times entered into Xora are pulled into Method (our Xora connector), which in turn sends this to the QuickBooks Weekly Timesheet.  There are options available that let the guys in the field select the proper service item for the entry to QB. Have you taken a look at the Demo Video on the Xora Connector? Send back some more details on what you were looking to do and we’ll be glad to help.

    Regards,
    Valbon

I would also like this option.  The only mobile browser I found that almost works is Skyfire running on Windows Mobile 6.1 on a Palm Treo800w.  I'm using the QXPress module which is similar to the field services module.  I'm a pool cleaner and would like to complete work orders on my Treo.  I might be able to do it with a lot of screen customization but it would have been cool if some were prebuilt.  I think mostly the drop downs are problematic and the screens are too wide.  I'll repost if I find a good screen design for use on such small devices.  Until then, I've purchased my technicians a Netbook from Walmart for about $250 and added a Sprint wireless card.

Anyway, I really love Method.  It does every I need and more.

    Tony -

Just further to what Ryan said, we'll do a blog entry.  But I wanted to let you know that we'll be able to finally get this in everyone's hands on the next update.  I see this being sometime next week.

    Ok, I'm waiting here. Wink

I was waiting for netbook deals for my technicians but will hold off for a while. I'd sure rather have them with only one device if possible.

As soon as we make the next publish to the live site we can get you on it.  We didn't get the update out last week like I had hoped :(.  So it looks like it will be this week instead.

Okay, okay.  So the good news.....we finally published to the live site.  So we should be able to get everyone on the beta now!

The bad news is that I was planning on being in charge of getting everything setup ready for you to download, but I'm **supposed** to be on vacation out west now.  But I'll slip away and get this together for you guys.  I'm as anxious to get it in your hands as you are to start beating it up.

Live site refers to the site available to you and me as compared to their internal development site.
