I am working in the report designer and trying to make a layout for 3.5 x 1.125 Dymo labels.  I found where I can change the paper size based on a pre-set list of options and also the margins, but I cannot find where I can customize the page size.  Can you tell me how I can change this?

I was able to change the width and height, but when I print it through generating a report to a PDF, it still fills the whole page length, but does honor the page width I specified

What about generating it as a PNG and then printing the PNG would this work?

That still does not work.  When you go and print, it throws it on a full page again.

With the image, when it comes up if you were to just right-click on it and select print and select your label printer does that work?

I will see what else I can come up with as well.

I tried first in Chrome and FF - that wasn't an option. I then tried IE and saw the print image option, but it again printed as if it knew it was going to be 8.5 x 11 and came out blank.  I printed to a regular printer to see how it was handling it and it had Page 1 of 1 at the top right and the URL for the generated image at the bottom, again not isolating the image.

On the report properties for Paper Kind select Custom and that should allow you to manually set the page size. I tested this and it works

I had already done that and it still doesn't work with the print.  Visually in the report designer it is correct, but when it generates the PDF or PNG it doesn't understand to only create based on that custom size.  We used to use NetSuite and it did work properly in that system when generating PDFs for custom sizes.  Any other ideas?

I emailed you a PDF that i generated for the smaller page size. Can you confirm how it prints or shows up for you?

I apologize for the delay in responding - I had other projects take over in priority.  I found the issue to be that I was selecting the section properties and setting the dimensions that way and not the report properties.  Depending where you click you get different properties boxes.  I started from scratch and that is where I figured out the error on my ways.  I did get it to print, but I still have to manually set the printer to landscape to get it to print that way.  I am happy to design it in landscape, but I haven't figured out how to rotate the fields accordingly, if possible.

For those who are getting neck pains reading the above response:

Select the label and in the Property Grid look for Angle under the Behavior section, setting a value there will rotate the label.

Angle does not appear to be an option for a field that is a check-box type and also rich text, but it does work for standard fields.  Do you have any other suggestions for the ones that don't have angle as an option?

For a Check Box you can use a combination of a shape object and a label instead of a Check Box and rotate the label.

As for Rich Text field changing the angle is currently not supported in the designer.

What kind of content do you have in Rich Text? Can you use a label instead?

I switched them both to labels and added the leading text to what was the in the rich text and also added a label for the checkbox so now it returns true or false.  I first did them all at 90, but it wouldn't adhere to text alignment so I switched to 270 and then it was able to properly apply my text alighments.  I tested it and it works - much easier and less manual printer setting steps for our operations team!
