Can't Open QuickBooks

    Can't Open QuickBooks

    We are still trying out Method at our business. Everytime we log into the computer where the Method engine is running, we are unable to open QB (don't use QB everyday, just 3 days a week). An error occurs saying it's already running. The process is clearly resident, but the QB GUI is not running. Only way to solve it is to kill it in Win XP Task Manager and re-launch QB for it to work again.

    This is a deal breaker when I'm trying to introduce technology to our accounting department and the technology is the obstacle.

    Anyone else see this?

    Do you happen to be using QB 2011?

    I've come across this once before, read THIS.

    It has to do with Instant Start a new feature in QB 2011, you may want to try disabling it or performing the steps listed in the above link.

    Sorry. Should have said what QB version we have. We just upgraded to Premier 2012.

    Thx for the link. I'll try installing the updated manually (even though I'm already on 2010) and see if it works.

    Will report back with results.

    Installed QB Premier 2012 R4 and it seems the issue is resolved. Thx
